Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to LandScore ("we," "our," or "us"). Protecting your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website or Chrome extension (together, the "Services"), and the choices you have about your data.
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve our Services:
- Identity & Contact Data:
Your email address, which you provide when you create an account or log in. - Real Estate & Page Content Data:
Property details and page content you choose to scrape from supported real estate websites when using the Chrome extension (for example, address, price, property features, and other listing details visible on the page). - Usage Data (Extension & Web):
Information about how you interact with our Services, such as features used, buttons clicked, and high‑level event data, used to improve reliability and user experience. - Technical Data:
Browser type and version, operating system, and technical diagnostic information (such as error data) to troubleshoot and secure our Services. - Analytics Data (Opt‑In Only):
If you enable analytics in the settings, we collect pseudonymous analytics events to understand how users interact with LandScore and improve the product. Analytics collection is off by default and only occurs if you opt in.
We do not collect your passwords, payment card numbers, or government IDs.
3. How We Collect Data
We collect data in the following ways:
- Direct interactions:
You provide your email address and other information directly when you create an account, log in, or contact us for support. - Chrome Extension actions:
The extension collects real estate and page content data only when you actively interact with it (for example, by clicking "Scrape" on a supported page and, optionally, "Send to Account"). The extension does not automatically scrape or send data in the background. - Analytics (Opt‑In):
If you opt in through the settings, we collect pseudonymous usage and performance metrics to understand and improve how people use the Services. You can turn this off at any time in the settings.
By using these features, you consent to the collection and use of data as described in this Privacy Policy.
4. How We Use Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Services, including creating and managing your account and displaying your scraped property data.
- Perform property data analysis and other core features of the LandScore extension and web app.
- Maintain and improve the performance, security, and reliability of the Services.
- Understand usage patterns (for users who opt in to analytics) and improve user experience and product features.
- Communicate with you about your account, support requests, and important updates related to the Services.
We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or for unrelated purposes outside the core functionality of LandScore.
5. Data Sharing
- Service Providers (including Supabase):
We share data with trusted third‑party service providers who process data on our behalf and only as necessary to operate the Services. This includes our hosting and authentication/database provider (for example, Supabase), which stores your email and account‑related data. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes. - No Sale of Personal Data:
We do not sell your personal data or share it with data brokers. - Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights:
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect our rights, users' safety, or the security and integrity of the Services.
6. Chrome Extension Specifics
- Scope and Activation:
The LandScore Chrome extension only activates on supported real estate websites. It operates solely to help you extract and work with property information consistent with the extension's single purpose. - Scraping Behavior:
The extension collects data from pages only when you actively choose to scrape them by interacting with the extension (for example, clicking "Scrape"). You control what pages to scrape and what data to send to your account. - Local Storage in the Extension:
Scraped data is temporarily stored locally in your browser while you use the extension. This local data is cleared when you click "Send to Account," clear it from the extension, or according to your browser's data‑clearing settings. - Transmission to Your Account:
When you click "Send to Account," the selected scraped data is transmitted securely to our backend and associated with your LandScore account.
6.1 Use of Chrome Data and Compliance with Chrome Web Store Policies
The LandScore Chrome extension only requests the minimum permissions needed to perform its single purpose: extracting property information from supported real estate sites and sending it to your LandScore account when you choose to do so.
We do not use data collected through the extension to build profiles for advertising, creditworthiness, or other purposes unrelated to LandScore's core functionality. Our use of information obtained via the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Google's Limited Use requirements.
7. Data Storage & Retention
- Local (Browser/Extension):
Scraped data and temporary state are stored locally in your browser while you actively use the extension. This data is cleared when you send it to your account, clear it manually within the extension, or when your browser clears extension data. - Servers (Account Data):
When you send data to your account, we store it on our servers (for example, via Supabase) linked to your LandScore account so that we can provide your saved properties, analysis, and related features.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We may also retain certain information as required by law or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it where required.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures include secure transmission (such as HTTPS) and access controls so that only authorized personnel and service providers can access your data for legitimate business purposes. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Control Over Scraping:
You can choose which pages to scrape and whether to send scraped data to your account. If you do not use the scraping features, the extension will not collect or transmit page content. - Analytics Opt‑In/Out:
Analytics collection is off by default. You can opt in (and later opt out) in the settings. If you opt out, we stop collecting analytics data going forward. - Managing Your Data:
You can delete scraped entries from the extension before sending them to your account. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us using the details below, subject to applicable law. - Uninstalling the Extension:
You can uninstall the Chrome extension at any time through your browser, which stops all future data collection by the extension.
10. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to provide and improve the Services (for example, to keep you logged in or remember preferences). You can typically configure your browser to refuse cookies or notify you when cookies are being used. If you disable cookies, some features of the Services may not function properly.
11. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for children under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about our privacy practices.
